Basketball Recap: Kennedy Catholic Takes Down Fort Cherry in a Playoff Battle

Kennedy Catholic had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Fort Cherry Rangers 75-49 on Friday. Kennedy Catholic has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Layke Fields was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last 38 games she's played dating back to last season. Bella Magestro was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 18 points along with eight assists and seven boards.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Kennedy Catholic, bringing their record for this year to 19-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Fort Cherry, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season.
