Game recap: Rogers picks up early lead in victory over Duluth Central

Rogers (Minn.) jumped out to an early lead against Duluth Central (Duluth, Minn.) and never looked back on the way to a 56-6 victory on Saturday.

The Royals put up 21 points in the opening frame. Rogers scored on a Kent Hoover touchdown run, a touchdown run by Nate Weber and a Gunnar Bloom touchdown run.

RHS was up 42-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Hoover touchdown run in the first quarter.

The Royals expanded their lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. Rogers' lone score in the quarter came on a Adam Heyer touchdown run.

RHS's standout player in the win was Weber. The junior halfback ran for two touchdowns.



The Trojans' lone touchdown came on a 73-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Royals entered the contest giving up 18.3 points per game this year.

In a non-conference game next week Rogers (6-1) takes on Duluth East, and Duluth Central (0-6) will go up against Buffalo in a Mississippi 8 game.
