Soccer Recap: Woodville-Tompkins Takes a Loss

Woodville-Tompkins started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Benedictine. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Benedictine Cadets who were credited with the win on Friday. The Benedictine Cadets got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines' one. The Wolverines have struggled against the Cadets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Chris Varner wasn't going to let Benedictine walk away unscathed as he scored both of Woodville-Tompkins' goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

Woodville-Tompkins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Benedictine, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
