Softball Recap: Sapulpa Takes a Loss

Sapulpa had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it seven. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bixby Spartans. That's two games in a row now that the Chieftains have lost by exactly five runs.

As for Bixby, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Sapulpa: they've now won four in a row.

For Bixby's part, they got a great performance from Addison Shannon as she pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Mikaylah Doran was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Emme Friedrichsen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sapulpa will face off against Union at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bixby, they will challenge Oologah at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
