Baseball Recap: McDonough Takes a Loss

McDonough managed to slip by Hampton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The McDonough Warhawks lost 14-4 to the Hampton Hornets on Friday. The Warhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

McDonough saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emery Hackney, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

McDonough is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for Hampton, they moved to 2-9 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

While McDonough had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
