Softball Recap: Cor Jesu Academy Takes a Loss

Cor Jesu Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Lindbergh on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 6-4. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Flyers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Beau Belz made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Rasmussen, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Cor Jesu Academy's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-6. As for Lindbergh, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Cor Jesu Academy will host Lutheran South at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lindbergh, they will head out on the road to challenge Fox at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Flyers 3.6, the Warriors 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
