Baseball Recap: Evans Comes Up Short at Home Against Augusta Christian

Evans unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Augusta Christian Lions by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Evans saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Crewe, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Tripp Furgeison, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evans will challenge North Oconee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Augusta Christian, they will head out to take on Bulloch Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
