Basketball Game Preview: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Oak Ridge Trojans

Del Oro is 1-9 against Oak Ridge since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Del Oro Golden Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Oak Ridge Trojans at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Del Oro didn't have quite enough to beat Davis Sr. and fell 55-52. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Eagles came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 231st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Ridge). Everything went their way against St. Francis on Friday as Oak Ridge made off with a 68-48 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Oak Ridge has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Del Oro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Del Oro might still be hurting after the 58-36 loss they got from Oak Ridge when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Del Oro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
