Basketball Game Preview: Corcoran Panthers vs. Orange Cove Titans

Corcoran is 5-0 against Orange Cove since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Corcoran Panthers will square off against the Orange Cove Titans at 6:30 p.m. Corcoran is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Corcoran challenged Edison on Saturday. Corcoran took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edison. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly five points.

Despite the loss, Corcoran got top-tier performance from Natalie Luna, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists. Those nine assists gave Luna a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoee Cabral, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orange Cove). They breezed by Alpaugh to the tune of 60-30 last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

The win got Orange Cove back to even at 4-4. As for Corcoran, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Everything came up roses for Corcoran against Orange Cove when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 70-9 victory. In that match, Corcoran amassed a halftime lead of 38-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
