Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Rochester

Bremen typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Rochester proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 8-3. The win was nothing new for the Zebras as they're now sitting on three straight.

Conner Dunfee made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Rochester's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 11-14 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Linden Wilburn was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Rochester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rochester's record now sits at 13-15. As for Bremen, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Rochester will face off against Eastern at 1:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Bremen, they will square off against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
