Basketball Recap: Montclair Comes Up Short

Montclair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Chino Cowboys and fell 74-23. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-12.

Chino found their leader in sophomore Tess Oldenburg, who posted 29 points in addition to six boards and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oldenburg has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of London Gibbs, who had 13 points and three steals.

Montclair's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Chino, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

When Montclair and Chino next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Montclair will square off against Diamond Ranch and their three-game winning streak at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Chino will try to stop Ontario's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
