Football Recap: Colter Powell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Uniontown over Southeast

Uniontown had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-2 to make it six. They came up short against the Southeast Lancers, falling 40-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Lancers since September 6, 2019.

Uniontown lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Colter Powell, who rushed for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 86 yards and one TD. Gaige Lape helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.

As for Southeast, the win got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Southeast's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Warner, who picked up 46 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one rushing score.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uniontown will host St. Mary's-Colgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Southeast, they will welcome Erie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will be up against the Red Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
