Hempstead had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-6 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Jefferson Hawks by a score of 56-48. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but the Mustangs were the better team in the second half.

As for Jefferson, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7. Even if they couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.
