Hominy entered their tilt with Afton on Thursday with 23 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 24. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Bucks have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Lela Hopper and Bianca Hipp did most of the damage at the plate: Hopper went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Hipp went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Wallace, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Hominy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Afton struck out ten times.
Hominy's victory bumped their record up to 27-2. As for Afton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hominy will welcome Kellyville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Afton, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Welch at 6:00 p.m. on December 19.
