Softball Recap: D'evelyn Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

D'Evelyn had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Wheat Ridge on Saturday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Farmers. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won ten matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Nava Basquez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Myla Vigil was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Macie Allen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

D'Evelyn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheat Ridge only posted a batting average of .235.

D'Evelyn's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.9 runs over those games. As for Wheat Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1.

D'Evelyn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Conifer on the 30th. As for Wheat Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Golden on the 30th.
