Softball Game Preview: Yutan-Mead Patriots vs. Southern/Diller-Odell

The Yutan-Mead Patriots will face off against Southern/Diller-Odell at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Yutan-Mead has three straight wins, Southern/Diller-Odell has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Yutan-Mead picked up another tournament win on Saturday. Everything went their way against Centennial as they made off with a 14-3 victory. Considering the Patriots have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Yutan-Mead got a massive performance out of Beth Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Brennan has posted over her last 14 games. Jordyn Campbell was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Yutan-Mead was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .640. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.

Southern/Diller-Odell played against Centennial on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Yutan-Mead's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Southern/Diller-Odell, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.
