Basketball Recap: Contreras Takes a Loss

Contreras was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 50-26 to the Bernstein Dragons. The Cobras were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.

Bernstein's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stephanie Ferreira led the charge by putting up 12 points. The dominant performance gave Ferreira a new career-high in points. Katherine Rojas was another key player, scoring 12 points.

Contreras' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bernstein, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.

Contreras and Bernstein's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Contreras and Collins Family (who has only given up 16.88 points per game) will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Bernstein will take on Hollywood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, a team that's only allowed 29.75 points per game.
