Softball Recap: Wolfe City Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Wolfe City and Tioga squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Wolfe City had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 9-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Lyric Sandlin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Brooklynn Uzialko was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Wolfe City's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Tioga, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Wolfe City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tioga, they will square off against Archer City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
