Soccer Game Preview: Armuchee vs. Gordon Central

The Armuchee Indians will square off against the Gordon Central Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Armuchee will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

While Armuchee's victory against Dade County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians skirted past the Wolverines 3-2. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Armuchee's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Dade County are ranked 384th).

Gabe DeHart and Moses Abston scored all three of Armuchee's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Gordon Central made sure to put some goals up on the board against Coosa on Thursday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-2. The win continues a trend for Gordon Central in their matchups with Coosa: they've now won three in a row.

Armuchee's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five contests. As for Gordon Central, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
