Lafayette County fell victim to Holden and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Huskers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Lexington sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over Cameron on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Zoey Earnest, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. Kaylynn Sander was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Lexington now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Lafayette County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Lafayette County took their victory against Lexington in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 11-3 score. Will the Huskers repeat their success, or do the Minutemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
