Volleyball Recap: Scotus Shamrocks vs. Battle Creek Braves
Scotus waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They had just enough and edged the Battle Creek Braves out 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Shamrocks also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Scotus was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (110-106), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-27, 26-24, 15-25, 15-13.
Kayla Hoffman had an outrageously good game as she had 48 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Ella Reeves and Jaidyn Smutny certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Reeves had 18 digs, while Smutny had 41 digs and two kills.
Scotus pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Battle Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.
Scotus is on the road again on Tuesday to play Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. As for Battle Creek, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win vs. Wisner-Pilger on the 26th.
