Basketball Recap: Petaluma Comes Up Short

Petaluma played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the American Canyon Wolves and fell 73-25. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

It was another big night for Jordan Woodson, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards for American Canyon. Woodson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Deja Montgomery was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Petaluma and nudges their season record down to 5-11. As for American Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Petaluma will welcome Justin-Siena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Justin-Siena will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Petaluma surely won't give up without a fight. As for American Canyon, they will head out to challenge Vintage at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. American Canyon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
