Recap: Kennedy Titans vs. Newark Memorial Cougars
The Kennedy Titans lost against the Newark Memorial Cougars back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Kennedy fell 50-38 to Newark Memorial.
Despite the loss, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: Payton Siquig scored 20 points. Siquig scored a full 52.6% of Kennedy's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Banda Banda, who scored six points.
Kennedy bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Newark Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Kennedy will head out on the road to face off against Moreau Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moreau Catholic is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Newark Memorial, they will be playing at home against James Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. James Logan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Newark Memorial in California (James Logan is ranked 242nd, while Newark Memorial is ranked 899th).
