Softball Preview: Sierra Chieftains vs. Torres Toros
The Sierra Chieftains will challenge the Torres Toros at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Sierra will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Central on Tuesday. The Chieftains were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over the Grizzlies. The Chieftains' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sierra got a massive performance out of Naliyah Gibson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Gibson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mirra Loretz, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Sierra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .825. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Torres let Summerville stack four runs on them in the fourth inning on Saturday but luckily Torres prevailed anyway. The Toros skirted past the Bears 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Toros.
Torres' victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Sierra, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
