Basketball Recap: Artesia Takes a Loss

Artesia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 59-11 defeat at the hands of the Whitney Wildcats. The matchup marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Artesia's record is now 0-9. As for Whitney, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Artesia and Whitney could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Artesia (ranked 1105th) will meet Cerritos (ranked 451st) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Whitney will challenge Long Beach Poly at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday down 161 places (274 vs. 113).
