Football Game Preview: Lacey Township Lions vs. Freehold Township Patriots

The Lacey Township Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Freehold Township Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lacey Township hasn't scored more than ten points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Friday, Lacey Township was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 14-10 to Toms River East.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freehold Township). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Freehold Boro. With the Patriots ahead 35-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Lacey Township better keep an eye on Jake Rattiner. He was instrumental in Freehold Township's win, rushing for 75 yards and three scores, while also picking up 35 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Rattiner a new career-high. Jumar Irvin was in the mix as well, providing Freehold Township with one touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for Freehold Township and bumps their season record up to 4-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points over those games. As for Lacey Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
