Soccer Recap: Palma Takes a Loss

If Palma was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Seaside on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chieftains lost 5-1 to the North Salinas Vikings on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against North Salinas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Thursday.

Palma's goal came courtesy of Gigi Richert, who's now up to 14 this season.

Palma has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for North Salinas, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Palma is set to square off against their familiar foe King City at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North Salinas will challenge rival St. Francis at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
