The Effingham County Rebels will take on the Statesboro Blue Devils at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Both teams are coming into the  matchup red-hot, with Effingham County sitting on  four straight  wins and Statesboro on three.
If Effingham County beats Statesboro with seven  runs on Monday, it's going to be the  team's new lucky number: they've won their past two  games with that exact score. The Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  victory over Jeff Davis  on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Rebels have posted  since August 6th.
Meanwhile, Statesboro's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout  on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Bradwell Institute  a   17-0 shutout.
 Madison Holmes was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and four  RBI while going 2-for-3.  Chloe Larson was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with three  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  home run department: Statesboro  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 Effingham County's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Statesboro, their win bumped their record up to 7-15.
