Softball Recap: Lincoln County Has No Trouble Against Thomson

Lincoln County came out on top against Thomson on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Red Devils blew past the Bulldogs 12-1. Considering the Red Devils have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kylah Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aysha Elam, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Lincoln County's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Thomson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will take on Lake Oconee Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thomson, they will square off against Academy of Richmond County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
