Basketball Recap: Paraclete Takes a Loss

Paraclete played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Sacred Heart of Jesus Comets, falling 49-24. The Spirits haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sacred Heart of Jesus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Genevee Hernandez, who posted 15 points and five steals. That's the most steals Hernandez has posted since back in January of 2024. Michelle Canete was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Paraclete's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paraclete has already played their next contest (against St. Bernard), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sacred Heart of Jesus is taking a road trip to face off against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
