Soccer Game Preview: Mark Keppel vs. Bell Gardens

The Mark Keppel Aztecs will challenge the Bell Gardens Lancers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Friday, Mark Keppel earned a 3-1 win over San Gabriel. Given the Aztecs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Matadors are ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

LAUREN YOUNG and ANYSSA PEREZ scored all three of Mark Keppel's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, Bell Gardens kept a clean sheet against Montebello on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Oilers. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by exactly two goals.

Bell Gardens now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Mark Keppel, their win bumped their record up to 14-1-1.

Mark Keppel beat Bell Gardens 2-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will Mark Keppel repeat their success, or does Bell Gardens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
