Football Recap: Cimarron Takes a Loss

After flying high against Southwestern Heights last Friday, Cimarron came back down to earth. The Bluejays lost 42-22 to the Hoisington Cardinals on Friday. The Bluejays haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Cimarron lost, don't look at Cade Sonday. Despite the final result, he threw for 190 yards and three TDs. A healthy portion of that aerial production (88 yards to be exact) went to Isayah Barranca, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Cimarron's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Hoisington, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Cimarron wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 25-14 loss against Russell on the 31st. As for Hoisington, they have also already played their next contest, a 74-24 victory against Halstead on the 31st.
