Soccer Game Preview: Clovis vs. Bullard

The Clovis Cougars will take on the Bullard Knights in a tournament on Saturday.

Clovis barely beat Pajaro Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars' defense stepped up to hand the Grizzlies a 3-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for Clovis, who have now won six matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Bullard was forced to settle for a draw. They and San Luis Obispo finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Friday.

Bullard's goal came courtesy of Daniel Hernandez, who's now up to four this season.

Clovis' win bumped their record up to 8-0-1. With that draw, Bullard's record moves to 4-3-1.

Clovis beat Bullard 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
