Basketball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mount Calvary Christian can now relate to. They fell 47-35 to the Northern Bedford County Panthers on Saturday.

Despite the defeat, Mount Calvary Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Clara Webb posted 15 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Webb has posted since back in January. Lilah Martin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Mount Calvary Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Mount Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Northern Bedford County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Mount Calvary Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northern Bedford County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-35 victory against Delaware County Christian on the 8th.
