Basketball Recap: Oakdale Takes a Loss

Oakdale suffered their closest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Manteca Buffaloes by a score of 41-38. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Manteca got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kalaja Reese out in front who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. That's the most boards Reese has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Michailla Springs, who put up ten points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Oakdale's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Manteca, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Sierra the next time they take the court. Oakdale will host Sierra at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Manteca will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
