Softball Game Preview: Noble Bears vs. Putnam City Pirates

The Noble Bears will take on the Putnam City Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Putnam City took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Noble, who comes in off a win.

Noble took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over Shawnee.

Meanwhile, Putnam City started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Midwest City. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bombers on Tuesday. Pirates fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bombers since Tuesday.

Noble's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-14. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Putnam City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-28.

Noble beat Putnam City 6-2 in their previous matchup back in August of 2016. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
