Preview: Meadowbrook Christian vs. Millville Quakers

Meadowbrook Christian is 1-7 against Millville since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Meadowbrook Christian will be home for the holidays to greet the Millville Quakers at 7:30 p.m. Meadowbrook Christian will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

Meadowbrook Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 48-22 margin over Belleville Mennonite. That looming 48-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Meadowbrook Christian yet this season.

Meadowbrook Christian can attribute much of their success to Kailey Devlin, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals, and Madalyn Fasnacht, who scored 24 points along with three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Devlin has scored at least 25% of Meadowbrook Christian's points. Alayna Smith was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Millville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Columbia Montour Vo-Tech 59-15 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Millville has managed all season.

It was another big night for Larissa Evans, who almost dropped a triple-double on 27 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. The match was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madeline Evans, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Meadowbrook Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Millville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's matchup: Meadowbrook Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.6% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Millville, though, as they've only made 27.6% of their threes per game this season. Given Meadowbrook Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Millville will need to find a way to close that gap.

Meadowbrook Christian beat Millville 41-28 when the teams last played back in February. Will Meadowbrook Christian repeat their success, or does Millville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
