Baseball Game Preview: Coleman Comets vs. Montabella Mustangs

The Coleman Comets will square off against the Montabella Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coleman is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Coleman's offense. They lost 10-0 to Farwell on Thursday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Comets haven't been shut out since back in April.

Coleman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyler Young, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Montabella came out on top against Morley Stanwood on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Mowhawks with a sharp 11-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

The team relied heavily on Mason Bogart, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Montabella: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 9-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gabe Kauffman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Montabella kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.

Montabella's win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Coleman, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Coleman came out on top in a nail-biter against Montabella in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 9-7. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
