Basketball Recap: Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 54-33 to the American School for the Deaf Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since February 1, 2024.

American School for the Deaf's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Suli DesJesus led the charge by putting up 17 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Diana C was another key player, scoring eight points along with eight steals and six boards.

Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf now has a losing record of 1-2. As for American School for the Deaf, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
