Basketball Recap: Carlsbad Beats Oceanside for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Carlsbad won the last time they faced Oceanside and things went their way on Friday too. The Carlsbad Lancers managed a 53-47 win over the Oceanside Pirates. Winning may never get old, but the Lancers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Oceanside's loss came despite strong showings from Martina Griffin and Kaitlyn Kaye. Griffin posted 14 points and five steals, while Kaye put up six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. That's the most steals Kaye has posted since back in December of 2024. Alana Hoskins was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Carlsbad's record is now 16-11. As for Oceanside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Carlsbad nor Oceanside have any future games scheduled.
