Football Game Preview: Ulysses Tigers vs. Guymon Tigers + Official Tickets

Ulysses will head out to face off against Guymon at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ulysses has given up an average of 32.3 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ulysses is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Liberal on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tigers were beaten by the Redskins 38-8. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.

Ulysses didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyce Perez and Stryker Berglund.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Guymon faced off against River Road on Friday. The Tigers strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 29-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 180th in Oklahoma, while the Wildcats are ranked 1088th in Texas).

The victory snapped Guymon's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. As for Ulysses, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Ulysses came up short against Guymon when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 12-6. Can Ulysses avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
