Baseball Recap: Kohler Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Kohler entered their tilt with Sheboygan Area Lutheran on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They never let the Crusaders get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-5 on Tuesday.

Nolan Kading made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Kohler's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Aiden Oldenhoff was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Kohler is undefeated when Oldenhoff posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Thorne, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Kohler's record is now 11-9. As for Sheboygan Area Lutheran, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Kohler wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Valders on the 21st. Sheboygan Area Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
