Basketball Recap: Brooklyn Petty-Wright's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fairfax over Palisades

Fairfax lost against Palisades back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Fairfax Lions lost 67-42 to the Palisades Dolphins. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 567th, while the Dolphins are ranked 240th).

Fairfax's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Petty-Wright, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 18 points and six rebounds. Those 18 points gave Petty-Wright a new career-high. Mila Spencer was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Fairfax's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Palisades, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Fairfax wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 80-24 defeat against Westchester on the 5th. As for Palisades, they have also already played their next game, a 68-50 loss against Hamilton on the 5th.
