Softball Recap: Dougherty Takes a Loss

Dougherty lost against Sumter County on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trojans came up short against the Panthers, falling 16-3. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sasha Hill made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Dariona Simmons was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Dougherty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sumter County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dougherty will square off against Calhoun County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sumter County, they will challenge Westover at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
