Volleyball Game Preview: Salida Spartans vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions + How To Watch

Salida is 0-9 against Colorado Springs Christian since October of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will head out to square off against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

La Veta came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Salida, but Madisyn Wilcox wouldn't allow it. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Redhawks on Tuesday for which the team can thank Wilcox, who had nine digs and six aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-11.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Colorado Springs Christian took on James Irwin on Tuesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since November 16, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Colorado Springs Christian was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-15.

The win was the third in a row for Colorado Springs Christian, bringing their record up to 3-6. As for Salida, their record is now 8-5.

Salida suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Colorado Springs Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
