Basketball Recap: Macksville Comes Up Short on the Road Against Bucklin

Macksville had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Bucklin Red Aces, falling 65-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since February 3rd.

Defeat or not, Macksville got some senior leadership from Gavin Rose and Carlos Ibarra. Rose posted 12 points, while Ibarra earned ten points and six boards.

Leading Bucklin to victory were Kahne Cook and Preston Yancey. Cook shot 64% from the field on his way to 22 points and three steals, while Yancey went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points and five assists.

Macksville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-43 loss against Ness City on the 5th. As for Bucklin, they have also already played their next game, a 60-40 defeat against Spearville on the 5th.
