Basketball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Legacy Christian Academy played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Desert Christian Knights, falling 77-25. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Armstrong, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 16 points and five steals. Armstrong continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Corynn Smith was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Legacy Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Desert Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hillcrest Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 21, 2025. As for Desert Christian, they will take on Vasquez at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
