Basketball Game Preview: Olney Trojans vs. Science Leadership Academy at Beeber Rockets

Olney has won four straight games at home, while Science Leadership Academy at Beeber has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Olney Trojans will welcome the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber Rockets at 3:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Saturday, Olney made easy work of Vaux Big Picture and carried off a 44-18 victory. With the Trojans ahead 24-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Science Leadership Academy at Beeber rose to the challenge on Monday. They really took it to KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-34 win. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Science Leadership Academy at Beeber found their leader in sophomore Raegan Wells-Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Wells-Bradley has scored at least a third of Science Leadership Academy at Beeber's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Vanderpool, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Science Leadership Academy at Beeber smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Science Leadership Academy at Beeber's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Olney, they have also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Olney won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, slipping by Science Leadership Academy at Beeber 37-36.
