Soccer Game Preview: Saint Mary's vs. Albany

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Saint Mary's duke it out with the Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Saint Mary's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Richmond as Saint Mary's made off with a 5-0 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Oilers are ranked 857th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Albany entered their tilt with Bentley on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Phoenix. It was an even better day for Caroline Alanis as she scored three goals for her team.

Albany has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those six contests. As for Saint Mary's, they pushed their record up to 7-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
