Football Recap: Great Bend Piles Up the Points Against Dodge City

While Great Bend put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Dodge City. The Panthers took their matchup with ease, bagging a 41-0 victory over the Demons. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Great Bend got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daxton Minton out in front who threw for 127 yards and four TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing, and also rushed for 82 yards on only nine carries. What's more, Minton racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ian Premer, who gained 95 total yards and three touchdowns.

Great Bend's run defense was locked in: Dodge City could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Kale Kern for the heroic effort on defense: he. That's the most yards per carry they've managed all season.

The victory keeps Great Bend at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 47.2 points this season. As for Dodge City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
